League recap: McNairy Central's Chandler delivers best pitching performance from past week

AA District 14 league recap: 5/21/12

AA District 14's top pitcher this week was McNairy Central's Blake Chandler. He picked up two wins and 16 strikeouts.

The league's longest active winning streak belongs to the Bobcats (29-10, 5-1), undefeated over their last eight games. The streak was extended by another three games over the past week, including a 3-2 victory over Fairley. Craig Mullins led the lineup this week with four hits and four RBIs.

McNairy Central boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. The Bobcats have given up a mere 201 hits on the year, while striking out 271 opposing hitters. Chandler is the leader in that category with 92 Ks on the season.
