Basketball Recap: Otay Ranch Mustangs vs. Bonita Vista Barons
Even though the Bonita Vista Barons scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Otay Ranch Mustangs still came out on top. Otay Ranch skirted past the Barons 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Otay Ranch has posted since November 15, 2023.
Percy Whittaker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Adam Delacruz, who scored 16 points.
Otay Ranch is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-17 record this season. As for Bonita Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Otay Ranch will square off against the Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bonita Vista, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
