Baseball Game Preview: Borah Lions vs. Timberline Wolves

Borah hasn't had much luck against Timberline recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will head out to square off against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Borah's offense. They came up short against Rocky Mountain on Thursday, falling 10-0. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Meanwhile, Timberline narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Boise 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted against the Brave since April 1, 2022.

Garrett Mirel tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aidan Messerschmitt, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Timberline's record now sits at 6-14. As for Borah, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Borah was able to grind out a solid win over Timberline when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 8-3. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
