Softball Recap: Cypress Bay Comes Up Short

Cypress Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-1 to the American Heritage Patriots. The Lightning were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Cypress Bay saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordyn Munger, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Allena Dinneen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Cypress Bay's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for American Heritage, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Cypress Bay will host South Plantation at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Plantation has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.71 runs per game on average), something Cypress Bay will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for American Heritage, they are taking a road trip to square off against Cardinal Gibbons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Cardinal Gibbons: 2.8, American Heritage: 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
