Softball Recap: Lakeview Victorious

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Lakeview brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They skirted past the Oil City Oilers 16-14. This was payback for the Sailors, who suffered a 13-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Gracie Harbaugh, who scored four runs while going 4-for-5. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Cydney Devereaux was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Lakeview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

With the win, Lakeview broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4. As for Oil City, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Lakeview will venture away from home to take on Keystone at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oil City has already played their next contest (against Franklin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
