Baseball Game Preview: Monroe Catholic Rams vs. West Valley Wolf Pack

Monroe Catholic hasn't had much luck against West Valley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rams will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Wolf Pack. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Monroe Catholic can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home last Thursday. They fell just short of Houston by a score of 12-11. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, West Valley faced Wasilla in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wolf Pack fell 11-7 to the Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolf Pack in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Hudson Wixom was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season.

Monroe Catholic suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to West Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
