Baseball Recap: Owensville's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against St. James on Wednesday, Owensville came back down to earth. The Dutchmen took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eugene Eagles on Thursday. The Dutchmen's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Landon Kramme made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Owensville is 5-2 when Kramme posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zaiden Gates, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Owensville's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Eugene, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Owensville will square off against Steelville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Eugene, they will take on Dixon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Eagles' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Bulldogs have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
