Basketball Recap: Pinewood Prep Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

If Laurence Manning Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pinewood Prep, they should've done a better job of containing Jayden Alexander. The Pinewood Prep Panthers blew past the Laurence Manning Academy Swampcats 60-35 on Tuesday thanks in part to Alexander, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points and four steals. Those 28 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kais Parris, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game.

Pinewood Prep's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Laurence Manning Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Pinewood Prep will take on First Baptist School at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pinewood Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Laurence Manning Academy, they and Camden Military will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
