Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pittston

Pittston never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Crestwood Comets as they made off with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Samantha Herbert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Herbert was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Gabby Roman was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kelcey Podwika, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

Pittston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .583. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.

The win was the third in a row for Pittston, bringing their record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Crestwood, they moved to 5-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
