Baseball Recap: Coral Springs Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Coral Springs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Colts have posted since March 21, 2024.

Angel Ruguian tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Coral Springs is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jaxon Krugman was incredible, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Coral Springs is undefeated when Krugman posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-5 otherwise. Ryan Guthrie was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Coral Springs now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, their record now sits at 6-5-1.

Coral Springs wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-6 loss against Cardinal Gibbons on the 13th. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 defeat against Mater Academy Charter on the 14th.
