Volleyball Recap: Nordonia's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Nordonia walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Berkshire Badgers on Saturday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won six matches in a row.

Ej Sopata paced Nordonia's offense, picking up 15 kills. Sopata got some help from Zac Fernandez and his 25 assists. Fernandez was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Nordonia's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Berkshire, they moved to 16-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

After both having extra time off, Nordonia and Mt. Vernon will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. Berkshire does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
