Recap: Abilene Eagles vs. Northwest Texans
The Abilene Eagles extended their postseason success on Friday against the Northwest Texans. They came out on top against the Texans by a score of 27-16. The win was nothing new for Abilene as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Abilene was led to victory by Dylan Slack and Chad Lara. Slack threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, while Lara rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Abilene's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Jadrian Carillo and his two sacks.
Northwest's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Saheed Durodoye, who rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown, and Kobey Wall who picked up 77 receiving yards and a touchdown. Durodoye is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Abilene's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Northwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Abilene will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Aledo at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Aledo: 16.8, Abilene: 17.7) so any points scored will be well earned. Northwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
