Freeman is 0-10 against Deep Run since May of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Mavericks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Freeman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Freeman was able to grind out a solid victory over J.R. Tucker, taking the game 8-3.

Caroline Baird spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryleigh Perks, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Oakley Cotropia, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Deep Run never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against James River Midlothian on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Rapids. Considering the Wildcats have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Emily Plank made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Deep Run let Braelyn Baulsir and Brooke Black run wild. Baulsir got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base, while Black went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four runs gave Baulsir a new career-high. Hope Tate was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Deep Run always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Deep Run's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Freeman, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Freeman hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Deep Run struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
