Volleyball Recap: Okeechobee Comes Up Short

Okeechobee lost against Jensen Beach back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Brahmans fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2. While the Brahmans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 25-19 in the first set.

Okeechobee took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-9, 23-25, 25-16, 15-13.

Azariah Washington paced Okeechobee's offense, picking up 23 kills. Washington got some help from Lindy Harwas and her 33 assists. Alyssa Madrigal controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Kaylia Brown was a one-woman wrecking crew For Jensen Beach. as she had 20 digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in assists (seven).

Okeechobee has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Jensen Beach, they moved to 10-13 with that victory, which also ended their seven-match losing streak.

Okeechobee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Port St. Lucie on the 8th. As for Jensen Beach, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Martin County on the 9th.
