Soccer Game Preview: Steele Canyon vs. Santana

The Steele Canyon Cougars will take on the Santana Sultans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Steele Canyon's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Valhalla. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Cougars were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Santana sidestepped Calexico for a 3-2 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Sultans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 565th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 84th).

Steele Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 2-8-1. As for Santana, their win bumped their record up to 5-7-3.

Steele Canyon came up short against Santana in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 2-0. Can Steele Canyon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
