Game recap: Silver Creek High School Football Team beats Mead

LONGMONT, Colo. - Silver Creek (Longmont, Colo.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter to seal a 35-6 victory over Mead (Longmont, Colo.).

The two teams were tied at six heading into halftime. The Raptors took the lead for good on a touchdown pass by Ben Sjobakken to Zane Lindsey with 9:00 left in the third quarter.

Eric Machmueller was the top performer for Silver Creek. The junior wide receiver caught two touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.

The Maverick's Alex Mead played well. The senior running back caught one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to two on the year.

Mead's lone touchdown came on a 49-yard pass from Griffin Nelson to Mead in the second quarter.



SC went into the matchup giving up only 13.5 points per game. The six points that MHS ended with were well below its average of 22.5 coming into the game.

The win was a nice bounce back for the Raptors, which lost to Roosevelt last week, 21-14.

Mead (3-6) will play a 3A Tri-Valley game against Roosevelt next week, while Silver Creek (7-2) will take on Berthoud also in a 3A Tri-Valley game.
