Basketball Game Preview: Crooksville Ceramics vs. Maysville Panthers

Crooksville is 1-9 against Maysville since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Crooksville Ceramics will venture away from home to face off against the Maysville Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Friday, Crooksville got the win against Meadowbrook by a conclusive 65-45. The Ceramics pushed the score to 50-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Colts cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Maysville waltzed into their game on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Tornadoes 86-63. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Crooksville better keep an eye on Gator Nichols. He was instrumental in Maysville's win, going 11 of 20 on his way to 32 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Nichols' evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Watson, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 21 points and four steals.

Crooksville's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Maysville, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Crooksville was taken down by Maysville 81-48 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Crooksville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
