Basketball Recap: Laila Snow's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pine Forest over Pensacola

Pine Forest managed to keep up with Pensacola until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Pine Forest Eagles lost 55-30 to the Pensacola Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since December 28, 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Laila Snow, who posted eight points. Snow has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Za'Khiya Shaw-Rease was another key player, putting up five points and 14 rebounds.

Pine Forest dropped their record down to 8-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Pensacola, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

When Pine Forest and Pensacola next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Pine Forest will square off against Florida State University High School and their five-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pensacola will try to stop Booker T. Washington's six-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
