Baseball Recap: Pro Stock Royals Academy Beats Union Academy for Their Fourth Straight Victory

While Pro Stock Royals Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Union Academy Cardinals on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Royals sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

David Rowles tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nick Santos and Jake Gibson did most of the damage at the plate: Santos scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Gibson scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Gibson also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Stephen Mogelefsky, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Pro Stock Royals Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Union Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-8 record.

Looking ahead, Pro Stock Royals Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Grace Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Union Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
