Football Recap: Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Skates Past Cohoes with Ease

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 50-point drubbing they dealt Cohoes on Friday. The Ravens simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 56-6. With the Ravens ahead 42-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Lee Kittle and Joseph Touzin. Kittle rushed for 113 yards and two scores while Touzin rushed for 143 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. Touzin's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Joseph Foy was in the mix as well, providing Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk with two TDs.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Foy, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points over those games. As for Cohoes, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk will venture away from home to face off against Ichabod Crane at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cohoes, they will host Schalmont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Sabres' defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
