Softball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Napavine's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Napavine unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 6-3 to the Raymond/South Bend Ravens. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 10-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Hannah Fay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Napavine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lyla Kirkpatrick, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Kirkpatrick also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Napavine's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-1. As for Raymond/South Bend, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Napavine will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Onalaska at 4:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Tigers are facing the Loggers at the right time seeing as the Loggers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Raymond/South Bend, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Morton/White Pass at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
