Soccer Game Preview: Stockdale vs. Garces Memorial

The Stockdale Mustangs will square off against the Garces Memorial Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stockdale will be strutting in after a victory while Garces Memorial will be coming in after a defeat.

Stockdale is headed into the contest having not lost since December 26 and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Frontier a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Titans are ranked 756th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Garces Memorial was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They fell just short of Centennial by a score of 1-0. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Golden Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Stockdale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-1-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those 12 contests. As for Garces Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9-5.
