Softball Recap: Tellico Plains Comes Up Short

Tellico Plains was the 11-6 winner over Meigs County when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Bears took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly three runs.

Isabella Wright stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3. She also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Addison Joines was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.

Tellico Plains dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Meigs County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tellico Plains is set to challenge their familiar foe Roane County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Meigs County will face off against rival McMinn Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
