Volleyball Game Preview: Lincolnview Lancers vs. Coldwater Cavaliers

The Lincolnview Lancers will head out to face off against the Coldwater Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Lincolnview managed to slip by Miller City the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lancers lost 3-0 to the Wildcats on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 25-14.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Beth Hughes, who had 12 digs and three assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Meanwhile, Coldwater got the win against Minster on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

While Coldwater won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-23.

Lincolnview's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Coldwater, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Lincolnview has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Coldwater struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 aces.
