Volleyball Recap: Don Soffer Aventura Comes Up Short

Don Soffer Aventura was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the American Heritage Patriots, falling 3-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Barracuda were not able to get on the board.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-21, 25-9.

Despite the loss, Don Soffer Aventura still got an impressive performance from Lorenzo Caffarena, who had 15 digs. That's the most digs Caffarena has posted since back in March of 2024.

American Heritage can attribute much of their success to Aiden Itzkowitz, who had 14 digs and three aces.

Don Soffer Aventura's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for American Heritage, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Don Soffer Aventura and American Heritage will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time Don Soffer Aventura sees the court they'll take on Donna Klein Jewish Academy at 4:00 p.m. on April 2. As for American Heritage, their break will end when they face Somerset Academy at 4:00 p.m. on April 2.
