Basketball Recap: Weaver Takes a Loss

If Weaver was riding high fresh off their 77-41 takedown of Vincent last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Weaver Bearcats took a 77-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spring Garden Panthers on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Weaver's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Spring Garden, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weaver will face off against Alexandria at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Spring Garden, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Spring Garden Panthers challenge the Cleburne County Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
