Basketball Recap: Mountain House Mustangs vs. Atwater Falcons
The Mountain House Mustangs stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 62-41 margin over Atwater. The win was familiar territory for Mountain House who now have 12 in a row.
Shamar Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points. Charles Wolfe was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Mountain House is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Atwater, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-13.
Mountain House and the Spartans will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lathrop will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 887th, while the Mustangs are ranked 195th). As for Atwater, they will head out on the road to face off against the Gauchos at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully El Capitan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
