Preview: Tularosa Wildcats vs. Lordsburg Mavericks
Tularosa and Lordsburg are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2016, but not for long. The Tularosa Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Lordsburg Mavericks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tularosa will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
In what's become a running theme this season, Tularosa gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Mescalero Apache, posting a 55-19 win at home.
Meanwhile, Lordsburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 56-52 to Mescalero Apache.
Tularosa's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Lordsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
Tularosa didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lordsburg in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. Does Tularosa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lordsburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
