Basketball Game Preview: Highland Rams vs. Olympus Titans

The Highland Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Olympus Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland is looking for their season's first victory.

Back in December of 2024, Highland lost to South Summit at home by a 50-33 margin.

Kennedy Gurgel put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 15 points and three steals. Those 15 points gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Olympus' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a blow against West, falling 68-39. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Panthers are ranked third).

Highland will need focus on slowing down Claire Hazen, one of several Olympus players who made an impact when they last played. She put up 11 points. Another player making a difference was Joss Baker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Olympus, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Highland came up short against Olympus when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 44-35. Can Highland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
