Basketball Recap: Evangelical Christian's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Evangelical Christian can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 64-56 win over the Riverdale Raiders. This was payback for the Sentinels, who suffered a 58-54 loss the last time these two teams met.

Evangelical Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Quez Outten out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Outten a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of David Morris, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points along with five rebounds and four blocks.

Evangelical Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Riverdale still got an impressive performance from Jamar Underwood, who posted 26 points. Underwood continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of David Swanson, who put up ten points.

The win got Evangelical Christian back to even at 6-6. As for Riverdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Evangelical Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-22 loss against Palmetto Ridge on the 2nd. As for Riverdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-57 defeat against Highlands Christian on the 2nd.
