It was a proper cat-fight when Great Plains Lutheran challenged Northwestern Area on Thursday. Great Plains Lutheran walked away with a 51-43 win over Northwestern Area.

Brody Scharlemann was a one-man wrecking crew for Great Plains Lutheran as he almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Scharlemann a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Holien, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Oldham-Ramona/R didn't have quite enough to beat Canistota on Saturday and fell 49-46. The Rutland have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oldham-Ramona/R's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Great Plains Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Everything came up roses for Great Plains Lutheran against Oldham-Ramona/R in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 68-41 win. Will Great Plains Lutheran repeat their success, or does Oldham-Ramona/R have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
