Basketball Recap: Tipton Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Madison Carvajal and Clara Williams

It was a proper cat-fight when Tipton challenged Logan-Rogersville on Saturday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 59-56. Even though they lost, the Cardinals' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Despite the defeat, Tipton had strong showings from Clara Williams, who shot 4-for-6 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards, and Madison Carvajal, who went 7-for-14 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Schlotzhauer, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Tipton and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Logan-Rogersville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Tipton will take on Skutt Catholic in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Logan-Rogersville, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Father Tolton at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2026.
