The biggest upset of the week belonged to Granby Memorial, who defeated 92nd ranked Canton, 21-19. Dominic Pagano ran for 135 yards and caught 1 pass for 10 yards in the win.
John Lippincott was a passing and rushing force as Gilbert-Northwestern Regional bested Housatonic-Wamogo. He completed 3 passes for 73 yards and also ran for 95 yards. Lippincott's favorite target this week was Paxton Franklin, who caught 2 passes for 52 yards.
Curtis Field put up the best numbers in passing as the Bears bested the Warriors. He finished with 7 completions for 78 yards. Field's favorite target this week was Ian Downey, who caught 2 passes for 33 yards.
Leading Pequot - West in both passing and receiving yards, Granby Memorial's Field and Downey have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Field has thrown for 1,578 yards this season, while Downey has 45 catches for 768 yards. Tony Ortiz from the Yellowjackets leads the league in rushing with 1,673 yards.
Rich Gadoury's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,109 from 11,567. The advance stemmed from a 21-19 victory over Canton last week.
