Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson vs. Diego Rivera

The Jefferson Democrats will head out to face off against the Diego Rivera Huskies at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Diego Rivera took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Jefferson, who comes in off a win.

Jefferson's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over West Adams. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Democrats yet this season.

They hit West Adams with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Enner Velasquez, Maximo Ortiz, and Abner Martinez.

Meanwhile, Diego Rivera came up short against Dr. Maya Angelou Community on Wednesday and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 757th, while the Phoenix are ranked 149th).

Diego Rivera's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Jefferson, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
