It really shouldn't have been much of a surprise. Luke Kennard, the sharpshooting 6-foot-4 guard from Franklin (Ohio), won the POWERADE Jamfest 3-point contest Monday night at the University of Chicago.

This is the same guy who averaged 38.1 points per game and shot almost 50 percent from the 3-point line (100 of 204) during the regular season. The East standout scored 23 points in the state finals and now gets ready for Wednesday's 38th McDonald's All-American Game at the United Center.

No word if he's headed to Indianapolis after that to attend the Final Four. His future school Duke might want him to pre-enroll before the Blue Devils take on Michigan State in a Saturday semifinal at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Kennard also averaged 9.7 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.2 steals a game for Franklin (26-2). He's the No. 25 recruit overall in the nation, according to 247Sports, and No. 6 shooting guard.

According to Mike Dyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Kennard visited the Ronald McDonald House with many of his teammates on Sunday.

"That was a great experience," Kennard said. "I took a lot away from that in just how blessed you are and how great you actually have it."

Wednesday won't be the last time Kennard plays while in high school. He's scheduled to play in the Nike Hoop Summit April 11 in Portland, Ore., and then the Jordan Brand Classic April 17 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

And shortly after that it's off to Duke.
