Basketball Recap: Melvindale Victorious

Melvindale proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 45) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Allen Park Jaguars 53-51. While the Cardinals didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Melvindale's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Allen Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Melvindale Cardinals challenge the Redford Union Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Allen Park, they will square off against Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trenton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Allen Park surely won't give up without a fight.
