Basketball Recap: Saint James Takes a Loss

On Wednesday, Saint James faced St. Andrew's Episcopal in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Saint James Saints had to suffer through a 78-49 loss at the hands of the St. Andrew's Episcopal Lions. The Saints have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Saint James had strong showings from Christian Gladchuk, who to rack up 15 points and seven boards, and Xavier Colbert, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds gave Colbert a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Carter, who posted six points.

Saint James' loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Saint James does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they have already played their next game, a 57-48 defeat against Flint Hill on the 20th.
