Basketball Game Preview: Kempsville Chiefs vs. Menchville Monarchs

The Kempsville Chiefs will challenge the Menchville Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Kempsville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Menchville likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, Kempsville came up short against Kellam and fell 74-61. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Knights are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Menchville ended up a good deal behind Kecoughtan on Thursday and lost 68-49. The Monarchs have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Kempsville's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Menchville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Kempsville took their win against Menchville when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 66-41. Does Kempsville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Menchville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
