Softball Recap: Mason Bulldogs vs. Lakeville Falcons
Sadly, Mason is still looking for their first win of the season after six matches. They fell 10-7 to the Lakeville Falcons on Saturday.
For Lakeville's part, Zoe Swank was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk). Swank has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances. Swank was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Jayla Thompson was incredible, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-3. Larissa Gibson was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
Mason's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Lakeville, they pushed their record up to 11-1-1 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing St. Clair the next time they take the field. Lakeville will head out to face St. Clair at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Mason will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
