Volleyball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Sundevils vs. San Marcos Knights

The Mt. Carmel Sundevils will challenge the San Marcos Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Mt. Carmel's victory against Escondido wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Sundevils had just enough and edged out the Cougars 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Sundevils in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Mt. Carmel wouldn't go down easily and took Escondido into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 28-26, 25-21, 24-26, 15-11.

Meanwhile, San Marcos can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Rancho Bernardo. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

San Marcos walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-23, 25-15, 25-23.

Mt. Carmel's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for San Marcos, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Mt. Carmel came out on top in a nail-biter against San Marcos in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Sundevils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
