Softball Recap: River Wins Going Away Against Bellaire

River won the last time they faced Bellaire and things went their way on Friday too. The Pilots were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Big Reds. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pilots.

Ava Wohnhas made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs.

In other batting news, Kaylee Hagan was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

River's record is now 12-13. As for Bellaire, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

River didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-8 defeat against Toronto on the 12th. As for Bellaire, they will take on Buckeye Trail at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Big Reds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
