Basketball Recap: Tallassee Takes a Loss

Tallassee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 78-57 to the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-57 on Monday.

Leading Stanhope Elmore to victory were Terrance Collins and Judah Gilbert. Collins dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, while Gilbert posted 18 points. What's more, Collins also racked up four steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kam Anderson, who had eight points and nine boards.

Tallassee's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Stanhope Elmore, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12.

Tallassee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-63 defeat against Stanhope Elmore on the 30th. Stanhope Elmore has also already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against Elmore County on the 28th.
