Softball Recap: Greater Lowell Tech Beats Minuteman Regional for Their Fourth Straight Win

Greater Lowell Tech waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Minuteman Regional Minuteman by a score of 5-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gryphons also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Amaya Flood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Chelsey Quealy was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Haskell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Greater Lowell Tech pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Minuteman Regional, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greater Lowell Tech will head out to face off against Groton-Dunstable at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Minuteman Regional, they will venture away from home to square off against Mystic Valley Regional at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
