Softball Recap: Milan Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westview, Milan was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the McKenzie Rebels a 5-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won six in a row.

The result came thanks to Camryn Green's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mia Pearson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Laylah Dinwiddie, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Milan's win bumped their record up to 20-8. As for McKenzie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Milan will take on Ripley at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. McKenzie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
