Softball Preview: McDowell Titans vs. Bandys Trojans

McDowell has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Bandys Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

McDowell will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Enka, who they hadn't topped in nine consecutive meetings. McDowell had just enough and edged Enka out 2-1.

McDowell got a great performance from Layla Presnell as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, McDowell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miranda Wall, who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Meanwhile, Bandys owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over West Caldwell. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bandys.

The result came thanks to Owyen Lyall's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up 13 Ks.

McDowell has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Bandys, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
