Destin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Traiton Mauffray out in front who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Bryson Nixon was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Pine Forest had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They escaped with a win against Pensacola by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
