Softball Recap: Rio Rico Comes Up Short

Rio Rico lost against Douglas back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hawks came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 10-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Emily Chao made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Rio Rico's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Douglas, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

While Rio Rico had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
