Recap: Andover Central Jaguars vs. Salina Central Mustangs
The Andover Central Jaguars waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 41-40 win over Salina Central. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 20% better than the opposition, as Andover Central's was.
Hayden Snodgrass continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Haven Deckinger was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Vidricksen, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Saniya Triplett, who scored six points along with three steals.
Andover Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Salina Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Andover Central will head out on the road to face off against Maize South at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Maize South will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Andover Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Salina Central, they will be playing at home against Eisenhower at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Salina Central is facing Eisenhower at the right time seeing as Eisenhower is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
