Rancho Cotate won the last time they faced Sonoma Valley and Izayah Rush did his part to make sure it happened again. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Dragons 65-62 for which the team can thank Rush, who shot 64% from the field en route to 26 points and six boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Morie, who posted nine points and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.1% field goal percentage.

The win made it two in a row for Rancho Cotate and bumps their season record up to 10-5. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points over those games. As for Sonoma Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Coming up, Rancho Cotate won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Elsie Allen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Lobos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.54 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sonoma Valley, they will square off against American Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
