Softball Recap: Dixie Comes Up Short

Dixie managed to slip by Newton Local the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Greyhounds came up short against the Indians on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The Greyhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dixie now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Newton Local, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5.

Looking ahead, Dixie is taking a road trip to square off against Tri-Village at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Greyhounds' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Newton Local, they will be playing at home against Ansonia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.63 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
